I was on MSN this morning and an article caught my eye. It was entitled “7 Thoughts That Can Make You Thin” and was written by the staff of Oprah.com. Now seriously…I bust my back at the gym, kickboxing, and biking week in and week out; why didn’t anyone tell me that I could save the time and effort by just thinking! Does ‘thinking’ it really work?

Here are a few excerpts from the article:
One:
I ordered the grilled cheese, so why not get the fries, too?
One treat at a time. I’m indulging in grilled cheese, so I’ll trade the fries for a salad.
Two:
I’ll just have this one cookie.
If I can’t stop at one or two cookies, I shouldn’t have any at all.
Three:
My husband says I look fat, so I guess I should start exercising.
I want to get in shape for myself, not for him.
Four:
What’s the point of losing weight during the winter? I’ll get in shape come summer.
By eating more now, I’m creating a lot of extra work for myself when spring rolls around.
Five:
Fat runs in my family, so why bother exercising?
I can’t change my DNA, but I can change my fate.
Six:
After that grueling workout, I deserve a bacon double cheeseburger.
After busting my butt at the gym, my body deserves the VIP treatment.
Seven:
I’ll grab a candy bar to get me through my mid afternoon slump.
When my energy flags, I need food that will help me go the distance.
Nothing you didn’t know before, right? EXACTLY! If you’ve ever subscribed to a health magazine…you should have noticed that the weight loss and fitness concepts from month to month are usually the same…just a different way of looking at it. At the end of the day, you just have to want to be in shape and take the steps to achieve it. Get exercise and eat right. Forget about the magic pills, creams, and fad diets. Got any health tips? Leave me a comment and let me know!
