Sex…the next exercise craze!

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

If you thought sex was just for pleasure think again. Here I have a teaser to sex as an effective weight loss tool.

How many calories do we burn during sex?

The diet literature explains calories burned while jogging, playing tennis or golfing, but similar information concerning sexual activity has, until now, been unavailable.

Yet, a survey of 206,000,000 people indicated that 96% devote more time and effort to sex than jogging, tennis, or golf, and I felt that the time was right for a new type of sex manual.

Monster Hog - Kids Hunting at Early Age

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

Jamison Stone, 11, was recently in the news for having killed a hog (May 2007) which he shot eight times with a pistol on a hunting preserve in eastern Alabama. Jamison has recently completed sixth grade at Christian Heritage Academy in Carrollton, Alabama. He shot the ‘hogzilla’ with a .50 caliber revolver. There was some controversy that surrounded the entire episode. Many people felt that the photograph of the hog had been doctored in Photoshop, while others felt that Jamison did not how to shoot so he couldn’t have done it.

monster hog killed by eleven year old jamison stone

In America where we have had so many school children going off on a shooting rampage in school, why exactly are children who are 11 years old allowed or trained to go hunting. Jamison, who killed his first deer at age 5, was hunting with father Mike Stone regularly after that. And once he had killed this hog trophy, father and son were accepting backslaps from family and friends. It was Jamison’s moment of pride. In effect, we are also indicating that killing is something to be proud of ….like an achievement. So is it that we are teaching our children that killing animals is okay? Where and how does the child know to draw the line?
Here is a brief bibliography of school shootings across America:

1. Feb. 2, 1996 Moses Lake, Washington – Two students and one teacher killed, one other wounded when 14-year-old Barry Loukaitis opened fire on his algebra class.
2. Feb. 19, 1997 Bethel, Alaska - Principal and one student killed, two others wounded by Evan Ramsey, 16.
3. Oct. 1, 1997 Pearl, Mississippi – Two students killed and seven wounded by Luke Woodham, 16, who was also accused of killing his mother. He and his friends were said to be outcasts who worshiped Satan.
4. Dec. 15, 1997 Stamps, Arkansas – Two students wounded. Colt Todd, 14, was hiding in the woods when he shot the students as they stood in the parking lot.
5. April 1999: Two teenagers shot dead 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves at Columbine School in Colorado.

These are only 5 of the 37 child related shootings we have had from 1997 to the most recent in 2007, where at least 32 people were killed in two shooting incidents in the campus of Virginia Tech university in Virginia.
All these children must have learnt and observed someone close to them. Blaming it all on Television & films is the easy way out. Ask Jamison, he learnt from his father. So when we hear of children going half cocked with a gun, maybe we should stop and check with ourselves……aren’t we at fault somewhere?

I want to work for Google…

Monday, May 28th, 2007

I want to work for Google. Why you ask? Seems to mee that working for Google pays you in more than just money. Google is a $150 billion company, (that is NINE zeros), and was setup by two Stanford PhD students. Google became one of the biggest internet success stories in just four years. The VP of Google confesses ‘there are a lot of geeks in Google and it is a wonderful place for geeks to interact with each other’.

Still not convinced? Read the ‘Geek benefits’ below then watch the video clip from the Oprah Winfrey show:
1. 11 different cuisine cafeterias serving gourmet food
2. state of the art gymnasium
3. lap pool
4. facilities for various other games
5. foreign language classes
6. massage parlor
7. hair salon
8. taking your dog to work
9. laundry & dry cleaning facilities
10. concierge service
11. doctor check-up
12. day care
13. dental clean-up
14. competitive salaries
15. company stock purchase options

Definitely sounds like they are giving out their resume for perks they offer to candidates. Google receives an amazing number of 1300 resumes each day. As a service provider, Google believes in instant gratification, (kinda like your date putting out on the first date).

Michael Moore - A Vendetta Against the Bush Administration?

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Michael Moore started with Roger & Me and went on to Bowling with Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11. Bush hater or truth teller, hero or antichrist, his most recent entry at the Cannes Film Festival Moore’s documentary “Sicko” — a ferocious attack on the U.S. health care industry — is the talk of the film festival and Michael Moore is hot property.

“It’s a government that’s funded by the pharmaceutical companies and the health insurers, so I’m not surprised they’re coming after me,” said Michael Moore, who is being investigated by the U.S. Treasury Department for traveling to Cuba for one of the segments in his film. Ironically, the Cuban segment occupies relatively little screen time though it has made waves with the Bush government. This could be because, as per the film, the health-care industry that Moore skewers in “Sicko” was a major contributor to Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign.

As usual the Bush administration said that they had ‘no comment’ citing a policy against discussing specific investigations being conducted by Treasury Office.

Many people are of the view that the film has been exaggerated to unrealistic heights. Yet others have praised Moore for having the balls to deliver the untarnished truth. Whatever the opinion, the investigation lends credence to Michael Moore’s film and will ensure tons of free publicity for ‘Sicko’. Kudos to Michael for payback to the Government. According to Moore: “I’ve made a very funny film, about a very sick subject.”

Here’s hoping Mr. Moore doesn’t plan on getting sick in the near future or else Uncle Sam will have the last laugh!

Police Man Takes Work Home…

Monday, May 14th, 2007

I’m not a smoker or a midnight toker…but it would still suck if a cop confiscated my weed only to take it home for himself. The only consolation would be if he got caught. Dearborn, Michigan police officer Cpl. Edward Sachez admitting he took marijuana from criminal suspects and, with his wife, baked it into brownies. How did he get caught…read on…it’s worth it!

The department’s investigation began with a bizarre 911 call from Sanchez’s home in Dearborn Heights. On the night of April 21, 2006, a panicky Sanchez told an emergency dispatcher he thought he and his wife were overdosing on marijuana.

“I think we’re dying,” he said in the 5-minute tape, obtained under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act. “We made brownies and I think we’re dead, I really do,” Sanchez continued.

He told the dispatcher he had never made marijuana brownies before, but had previously used marijuana. Then, he asked the score of the Red Wings game on television that night, explaining, “I just want to make sure this isn’t some type of, like, hallucination that I’m having.”

When later questioned by police investigators, Sanchez said his wife took the marijuana out of his police vehicle while he was sleeping, and she told investigators she tricked him into eating a pot-laced brownie.

“Cpl. Sanchez was insistent that he would never ingest marijuana or any narcotics intentionally,” an investigator wrote.

But in a subsequent interview, Sanchez acknowledged he fetched the marijuana from his car, put it in the brownie batter, and ate the brownies.

Sanchez also said he took the marijuana “off the street from unknown persons,” investigators wrote.

“I questioned him in detail about how many times and what types of narcotics he seized without arrest,” the report said. “He was adamant that he only seized marijuana, and it was on a few occasions. Cpl. Sanchez stated that it had been over a year since he seized this marijuana and that the marijuana was taken to train his K-9,” or drug-sniffing dog.

“If you’re a cop and you’re arresting people and you’re confiscating the marijuana and keeping it yourself, that’s bad. That’s real bad,” said City Councilman Doug Thomas.

Sanchez, who resigned last year from the department in this Detroit suburb, declined comment Wednesday to the Detroit Free Press. Police Cmdr. Jeff Geisinger did not return calls seeking comment.
